What Are Greenprint Straw Materials?

Compostable Agave Straws

Home compostability comes from the enzyme masterbatch, not from PLA on its own. The enzyme catalyzes hydrolysis of the PLA polymer chains, so the straws break down at ambient home compost temperatures between 20°C and 30°C.
Standard PLA needs industrial composting between 55°C and 60°C and cannot earn HOME certification. Our internal biodegradation study, GP-BIO-001, documented full breakdown by Week 20 in home compost conditions, validated in triplicate.
